MURRAY, Ky. -- Three months ago, Javon Jackson scored a career-high 30 points, helping Illinois-Chicago to a double-overtime victory over Murray State. Fast forward three months, Jackson announced he'll now play for the Racers.

"Javon has an incredible skill set that allows for scoring from all three levels and his quickness helps him create for his teammates and it puts pressure on the opponent's defense," Racer head coach Ryan Miller said in a release. "Anytime you can add the kind of collegiate experience that Javon has, it's a big plus. We're looking forward to having him be a Murray State Racer."

Jackson completed his junior season with the Flames, starting 29 games and averaging 11.6 points per game on 38 percent shooting from the field, 31 percent from three. He hit 41 threes and was 5th in the conference in free throw percentage (81.6%), chipping in 2.7 assists and 1.5 steals a night.

In the win over Murray State on Jan. 15, Jackson hit the go-ahead three to put the Flames up for good with 1:02 remaining in double OT. He had three triples in total and five assists to go with his 30 points.

Murray State will be Jackson's fourth school in four seasons. The 6-3 Houston, Texas native started his college career at Division II school Southern Nazarene, then transferred to Utah State, appearing in 28 games for the Aggies before joining UIC in 2024-25.

The addition of Jackson will mark the second straight season Murray State basketball has landed a transfer within the Missouri Valley Conference, as the Racers landed SIU guard AJ Ferguson last offseason.

This offseason, Jackson is the sixth addition for the Racers via the transfer portal and the third guard.
