Sitting on the rocky shores of York, Maine, this 6,000-square-foot “architectural gem” with “breathtaking ocean views” is on sale for nearly $7 million — and has been on the market for more than 10 months.

The single-family home at 11 Cragmere Way was featured last week by Zillow Gone Wild, an Instagram account that has amassed 2.1 million followers by posting “wild” homes for sale across the country.

“How about a mansion off the coast of Maine?” the caption read for the post that has gained more than 14,000 likes and 190 comments, both admiring and critiquing the home. Some commenters pointed out the cold winters that make certain draws of the home unusable for a portion of the year and complained about the design of the master bathroom, while most admired the views.

It was also featured on March 28 by Pricey Pads, another Instagram account dedicated to sharing historic and unique real estate.

With floor-to-ceiling windows across the entire house, most overlooking the water, the four-bed and five-bathroom property is full of natural light, according to the listing. It’s located on a 1.08-acre lot surrounded by greenery and the Atlantic Ocean.

The inside features two primary bedroom suites, walk-in closets, a walk-in pantry, a bar, a skylight, and a maple spiral staircase, the listing said.

“Upon entering the open living space, guests are greeted by a captivating ocean view from the living room, complete with a striking mid-century modern fireplace and sliding doors that open onto the deck,” the listing said.

Sliding doors open the living room to a heated above-ground infinity-edge pool, a hot tub, and a large deck that extends over the water. On the other side of the two-story home, another deck overlooks the garden and surrounding greenery.

One of the main bedroom suites, located on the first floor, includes a fireplace, spacious modern bathroom, and direct access to the pool and oceanfront deck.

In the kitchen, top shelf appliances surround rift-sawn oak cabinets and a kitchen island. Connected to the kitchen is the dining area and an additional living room that features a floating library, fireplace, and even more ocean views.

It’s listed by Anne Erwin Sotheby’s International Realty and was first listed at nearly $9.5 million on June 6, 2024. The price dropped around a week later to $8 million and dropped to the current price in October, according to the listing history.

Built in 2007, the home has an open floor plan with cathedral ceilings and tile and wood floors and is adorned with vertical redwood.

While it’s not listed as a walkable area and is rated to only be somewhat bikeable, there is a three-car garage and a paved driveway.

“This remarkable modern home is an architectural gem set on the rugged coast of Maine offering breathtaking ocean views,” the listing said.
