Wanted Vietnamese criminal extradited from Belarus

Belarusian agencies on Thursday handed over a wanted Vietnamese man to the Vietnamese police for extradition.

HÀ NỘI — Belarusian security agencies on Thursday handed over a wanted Vietnamese man to the Vietnamese police for extradition.

Phạm Minh Đại, born in 1996, residing in Hoa Lư District in the northern province of Ninh Bình, caused serious injuries to another Vietnamese citizen during a conflict in the province on September 26, 2015. He then fled Việt Nam to Belarus and was wanted by Interpol.

The embassies of Việt Nam in Belarus and Russia and the representative office of Việt Nam’s Ministry of Public Security in Russia supported the extradition operation, especially during transit in Russia.

Based on the wanted order from Việt Nam’s Ministry of Public Security, Belarusian agencies arrested Đại and completed procedures to hand over him to Việt Nam. — VNS
