Fugitive Ukrainian Judge Chaus detained in Moldova at PGO request

Judge of Dniprovsky District Court in Kyiv Mykola Chaus, who is charged with taking a $150,000 bribe, which he kept in glass jars buried in his backyard, and who is wanted by Interpol, has been detained in Moldova.

"Judge Chaus, who was trying to escape from justice, has been detained by the prosecutor's office of Moldova at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine initiated by NABU (the National Anti-Corruption Bureau). After the extradition checks we expect Chaus at home," the press secretary of the prosecutor general of Ukraine, Larysa Sarhan, wrote on her Facebook page on Wednesday.
